The joy of collage

The joy of collage

I started using collage to support my art-making process some time ago. I found that drawing with scissors helped me to work more intuitively. Cutting shapes and placing them freely on paper before adding line has been revolutionary for me. Whenever I find myself over-thinking, I go back to where I find my flow cutting, gluing, and drawing.

After cutting random shapes from newsprint, I often cut out landscape elements from my own photographs. Photographing in nature is central to my work, where the changing of weather and seasons provides limitless possibilities.
