Accessing the subconscious

I am sharing, or perhaps merely recording, a moment of revelation, one of those wonderful experiences when everything becomes clear. This time it is not through making art, but through my wider reading. I have read a significant amount from and about Carl Jung, and although I believe in the subconscious and the realm of dreams, I have never used the imagery and understandings from my dreams in my art-making practice. However, whilst reading Awakening through dreams : the journey through the inner landscape (Hamilton, 2014), I understood that in order to truly access my inner landscape, then I must in turn access my subconscious. Having also read about and practised being in a state of flow and creativity (Csikszentmihalyi, 2013) I know that I need the time, space, and conditions in order to access this state and thus my subconscious. I cannot access my inner landscape without first finding the time and space to achieve a state of flow.
