Switzerland

Living in the Swiss Alps provided limitless opportunities for painting.  Switching from abstract to representational, I sought to discover a way of merging both of these fascinations. The need for topographical detail remained, involving a slow, calculated process, welcomed by the proceeding spontaneity involved in taping, veiling and layering. The search for a balance between order and chaos, the predictable and unpredictable, the perceived and the imagined had begun.
